Dr. Greg McWatt
Veterinarian & Owner
Dr. McWatt earned his degree as Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in Guelph 1987, is the Owner and Director of Baywood and Baywood South Animal Hospitals and a partner and past board member of the Huronia Veterinary Emergency Clinic. He attends numerous conferences related to veterinary continuing education as well as courses in leadership, communication, and personal development.
Greg and his family live in the east end of Barrie where he’s an active community participant. A member and a past President of the Rotary Club of Barrie, a board member on leave for Canine Opportunity, People Empowerment (C.O.P.E.) he loves to play hockey, golf, travel and ride the single track mountain bike trails of Simcoe County.
Dr. Kayleigh Tait
Veterinarian
Dr. Kayleigh Tait joined the Baywood team in March 2021. She graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2018 after completing her clinical year at Cornell. Her special interests in the veterinary field are surgery, preventative medicine and alternative approaches to pain control. In 2020, she became certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture.
During her free time, Dr. Tait enjoys traveling, skiing, hikes with the dogs and spending time at her cottage with friends and family in Huntsville. She shares her home with her boyfriend and their two dogs, Charlee a potcake from the islands, and Wesley, a golden retriever.
Dr. Briiann Dawson
Veterinarian
Dr. Briiann Dawson is a graduate of Murdoch University in Perth Western Australia. Since 2006, she has been providing veterinary care to pets in the Barrie and Collingwood areas. Growing up with horses, dogs, cats, goats and competing in hunter jumper competitions, Dr. Brii knew at a young age that animals would be a huge part and love of her life. As a world traveler, experience gained over the years included dolphin, wallaby and fur seal research at McQuarie University in Sydney Australia and Satyrid Butterfly research a Queen's University during her undergraduate degree.
Some of Dr. Brii's other favourite activities include hiking, yoga, windsurfing, surfing and snowboarding with her family. Dr. Brii lives in Collingwood with her three beautiful children, her husband and own personal Chef Chris, and her six fur babies, "Tilly" cat, "Chewy" chihuahua, Willow" the whippet, her two parrots "Mia" and "Azul" as well as her favourite equine friend "Fleur de Lyse". Dr. Dawson's goal is to provide best preventative veterinary care to her patients and clients.
Dr. Felicia Uriarte
Veterinarian
Dr. Felicia Uriarte graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1995. She worked as a small animal emergency veterinarian in both Windsor and Barrie and as a staff member of Baywood Animal Hospital since 1999.
In her spare time she enjoys yoga, triathlon training and spending time with her husband, two children and the family pets.
Carly
Hospital Manager
Carly graduated from the University of Guelph in 2016 with a Bachelors of Commerce degree along with a certificate in Leadership. During her undergraduate studies, she joined Baywood Animal Hospital as a part time employee. Carly currently manages both Baywood Animal Hospital and its sister clinic, Gravenhurst Animal Hospital.
Carly loves being able to combine her experience in business with her passion for animals. She always seeks to create a positive and collaborative work environment for the staff and comfortable experiences for clients and their pets.
Susan
Administrative Manager
Susan joined the Baywood Animal Hospital team in 1995. To her surprise, a six month maternity contract lead to many years of fulfillment and reward at Baywood. She loves the veterinary profession, Baywood Animal Hospital’s clients and their pets. Susan is a vital part of your experience. She always says “I have the best job caring for and interacting with people and pets!” Susan has attended numerous conferences and continues to attend continuing education seminars and workshops on customer service, communication and hospital management. She manages various projects to advocate on behalf of your pets and champions the hospital’s AAHA accreditation and social media for Baywood. Susan is looking forward to meeting you, your pets and reconnecting with existing clients.
In her spare time she organizes special events and fundraisers. She also arranges the hospitals’ seasonal flowerpots. Susan enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Mark, and two sons, all while keeping a busy house a home. Susan enjoys supporting her sons' academics and cheering their athletic pursuits. Georgia, an adorable golden retriever puppy was welcomed to their family in March 2019. She has been a lovely addition to the family and a great source of joy and entertainment since the passing of their beloved family dog, Phoenix. The family enjoys cottaging, boating, camping and spending time with friends and family. Susan is looking forward to welcoming you to the Baywood family.
Christie
Registered Veterinary Technician
Christie started working Baywood in 2014 as a co-op student. She graduated from Georgian College that year and wrote her Registered Veterinary Technician Exam that December.
She has two senior cats; Booboo and Miko, and a dog; Sienna. She loves music, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Krista
Registered Veterinary Technician
Krista joined the Baywood Animal Hospital team in 2021 after finishing her maternity leave. Krista attended Seneca College where she graduated from their Veterinary Technician program in 2018. Krista has always had a love for all animals and strives to help all pets and pet parents in anyway she can. Krista has a special interests in animal nutrition and behaviour. When not at work Krista enjoys gardening, hiking and most of all spending time with her husband and son along with their dog Walter and two cats Bennie and The Jets!
Kathy
Client Care Representative
Kathy joined the Baywood Animal Hospital family in 2021, fulfilling her dreams of working in the veterinary field. Kathy comes from a predominantly administrative background with an animal care education. She is very excited to meet the clients and patients of Baywood Animal Hospital.
Kathy enjoys time with her husband, Andrew and family of four adult children and two grandchildren. Her home is complete with her four canines Ember, Kylo, Rascal and Abby. Cottage, camping and travelling are always top of her list of hobbies and activities.
Sydney
Animal Care Attendant
Sydney is a real dog lover! Unable to have one at home due to a family members severe allergies, she makes up for it at Baywood Animal Hospital. Sydney is grateful to have joined the Baywood team as an Animal Care Attendant (ACA) at the start of 2021. She loves walking and caring for both feline and canine patients. Sydney takes pride in ensuring the hospital is clean and well stocked as part of her role as an ACA. She loves the part time work and opportunity to learn about animal health. Sydney aspires to work in the medical field helping and caring for either humans or animals.
In addition to working and attending school, Sydney enjoys running with her track team, swimming and hanging out with her friends.
